Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accurate processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management review and strategic planning.
- Bookkeeping & Reconciliation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel; perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all financial activities adhere to GAAP, federal, state, and local regulations and internal company policies.
- Payroll Support: Assist with monthly payroll processing and preparation of necessary tax filings to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Budget Analysis: Support the preparation of the annual budget and conduct variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; Associate degree with significant experience is acceptable.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Certification: CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus but not mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
