Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. While our physical operations are based in the UK, we specialize in supporting international clients, including those in the Long Beach, CA area. This role offers a unique opportunity to work flexibly while managing complex financial portfolios.

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing financial reports, and managing accounts payable/receivable. You will work closely with our UK-based management to ensure compliance with UK GAAP and international standards.

Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping & Reconciliation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including bank reconciliations and general ledger entries.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss accounts.
  • VAT Management: Handle VAT returns and ensure full compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage payments, and send out invoices to clients, including those in the Long Beach, CA region.
  • Compliance: Ensure all financial processes adhere to UK and international accounting standards.
  • Ad-hoc Support: Assist with payroll processing, tax calculations, and year-end audits.

Qualifications

  • Education: AAT Level 3 (or equivalent) or ACCA/CIMA part-qualified is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a UK-based firm.
  • Software: Proficiency in Sage 50, Xero, or QuickBooks is essential.
  • Skills: Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and advanced knowledge of accounting software.
