Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Perform daily entry of financial transactions and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, verify vendor data, and ensure timely payments while monitoring incoming payments.
- Tax Preparation: Assist the senior accountant with the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns.
- Payroll Support: Process payroll for a small team, ensuring compliance with local regulations and accuracy in calculations.
- Compliance: Maintain organized financial records and ensure adherence to company policies and GAAP standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related role.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Integrity: High ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidential financial information.
