Responsibilities
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings and tax packages for external auditors.
- Perform bank reconciliations and expense audits to maintain internal controls and prevent errors.
- Maintain and update fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Process payroll for a small team of employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with the finance team to optimize cash flow management and budgeting processes.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or general accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and Microsoft Excel (Advanced functions required).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Professional communication skills and a proactive attitude.
