Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss reports.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Tax Assistance: Assist the senior accounting team with year-end tax preparation and quarterly tax filings.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities adhere to federal and state regulations and internal company policies.
- Payroll Support: Process payroll for a small group of employees and manage related tax documents.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage; expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a meticulous approach to data accuracy.
- Communication: Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Availability: Must be available to work a set number of hours per week (e.g., 20-25 hours).
