Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping Management: Process daily transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
- Financial Reconciliation: Perform monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.
- Payroll Support: Assist with monthly payroll processing for a small team of employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Reporting: Prepare basic financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements for client review.
- Compliance: Maintain organized files and records in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) to streamline workflows and generate reports.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping.
- Certification: CPA or AA/AS in Accounting is a strong plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and cloud-based accounting platforms.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data accuracy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and team members.
