Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping processes including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end close procedures
- Maintain accurate digital financial records using Xero and QuickBooks software platforms
- Prepare VAT returns and quarterly management reports with precision and timeliness
- Collaborate with tax advisors and auditors during compliance reviews and financial audits
- Implement robust internal controls to safeguard financial data and regulatory compliance
- Support payroll processing and employee expense reimbursement workflows
- Generate insightful financial dashboards for client decision-making support
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper with 3+ years in SME or accounting firm environments
- Expertise in Xero/QuickBooks with advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or equivalent bookkeeping certification essential
- Exceptional attention to detail with ability to reconcile complex financial discrepancies
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP, HMRC regulations, and VAT compliance
- Proficient in digital document management systems and cloud-based accounting tools
- Ability to work autonomously during night shifts with strong time management skills
