Responsibilities
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable processing, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Manage and update ledgers, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP).
- Prepare and generate accurate financial reports, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements, for management review.
- Assist with payroll processing during the night shift cycle to ensure timely employee payments.
- Process invoices, verify expenses, and handle expense reports with the highest level of precision.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) to maintain up-to-date financial data.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a night shift environment.
- AAT Level 3 or equivalent professional accounting qualification is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to detect errors in large datasets.
- Strong understanding of UK tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during night shifts.
