As a Night Shift Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the end-of-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in our ledgers, and preparing critical reports that guide our morning leadership team. Responsibilities
- Oversee and process high-volume accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with 100% accuracy.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements on a nightly basis to ensure total data integrity.
- Prepare and post journal entries, adjusting entries, and accruals to facilitate the upcoming month-end close.
- Generate and analyze financial reports, including variance analysis and aging reports, for executive review.
- Maintain and update the general ledger system, ensuring all financial data is current and compliant with GAAP.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax documentation and internal audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
