As a Junior Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining our financial records and supporting our senior accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or career changers to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic Colorado Springs business environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with General Ledger Maintenance: Support the recording of daily financial transactions and ensure accuracy in our accounting software.
- Reconcile Accounts: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Data Entry & Reporting: Accurately input financial data into QuickBooks and Excel, and assist in preparing basic financial reports.
- Invoice Processing: Help with the processing of accounts payable and receivable, including verifying and coding invoices.
- Support Payroll: Assist the payroll team with gathering necessary documentation and data.
- Filing & Organization: Maintain a well-organized digital and physical filing system for financial documents.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience: No prior accounting experience required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
- Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is a plus) and willingness to learn accounting software (training provided).
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to spot errors and ensure precision in numerical data.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members.
- Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
