Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations to maintain data integrity.
- Software Proficiency: Manage daily operations using QuickBooks Online and Xero, including setting up new accounts and navigating complex ledgers.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets, to support business decision-making.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist in the preparation of year-end tax documents and support the external tax accountant during filing season.
- Expense Management: Review and process employee expense reports and vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are posted correctly and supporting documentation is retained.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Software Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for identifying discrepancies and errors.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- License: CPA or CCP certification is a plus but not required.
