Responsibilities
- Execute weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of wages and tax deductions.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns (940, 941, W-2s, and state reconciliations) to ensure full compliance with FLSA and GAAP standards.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance open enrollment, 401(k) contributions, and short-term disability claims.
- Conduct regular internal payroll audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions for process improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries, tax forms, and pay stub discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate timekeeping data and leave balance reconciliation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing, benefits administration, or a related accounting role.
- Proficiency with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or Ceridian) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, macros).
- Strong working knowledge of wage and hour laws, tax codes, and payroll compliance requirements in Kansas and Missouri.
- Certification as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Associate Payroll Professional (APP) is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial data.
