Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse workforce, including exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring 100% accuracy and timeliness.
- Calculate and process complex payroll elements, including garnishments, commissions, bonuses, and expense reimbursements.
- Prepare and file all necessary federal, state, and local payroll tax returns (940, 941, state equivalents) and W-2 forms.
- Conduct monthly payroll reconciliations to ensure balances match general ledger accounts and bank statements.
- Provide exceptional support to employees regarding pay stubs, tax documents, and compensation questions.
- Stay updated on changes in labor laws and payroll regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Assist in internal and external payroll audits and maintain organized payroll documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Expert proficiency in ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or similar payroll software platforms.
- Deep working knowledge of FLSA, ERISA, and Texas state wage and hour laws.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail and error prevention.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and auditors.
