Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and accurate invoicing.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and variance analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and labor laws.
- Maintain and update the general ledger using QuickBooks or Xero.
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns in accordance with state requirements.
- Reconcile credit card statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-3 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and inconsistencies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
