Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with GAAP and corporate policies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and create accurate rolling forecasts to support executive decision-making and resource allocation.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify variances between actuals and budgets, providing actionable insights to management.
- Financial Modeling: Develop complex financial models to evaluate capital expenditures, project ROI, and assess business performance scenarios.
- Process Optimization: Streamline accounting workflows and implement automation tools to increase operational efficiency and data accuracy.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders clearly and concisely in regular board and management meetings.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; MBA or CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or public accounting.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Macros) and experience with financial reporting software (SAP, Oracle, or Hyperion).
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to interpret large datasets and translate numbers into strategic business narratives.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in the [Oil & Gas/Industrial] sector is highly desirable for this Houston-based role.
