Responsibilities
- Manage and process daily accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for financial records and tax documents.
- Process payroll entries and support month-end closing procedures.
- Communicate with vendors and clients regarding billing inquiries and invoice status.
- Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks/Xero) to track financial data.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (Double-entry bookkeeping) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills highly desirable.
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) is a significant advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Must be a resident of the Washington, DC area.
