Responsibilities
- Assist with Month-End Close: Support the accounting team in preparing adjusting entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and completing the monthly closing process efficiently.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, verify billings, and ensure accurate and timely payment to vendors, as well as follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare basic financial statements and reports, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring data integrity and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Data Entry & Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers and spreadsheets, utilizing advanced Excel functions.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Compliance & Auditing: Assist in the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve overall office efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing a CPA/CMA certification).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with a focus on data analysis and spreadsheet modeling.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to perform high-level data entry and maintain strict accuracy in financial documentation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Software Knowledge: Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite is a plus.
