Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and general ledgers.
- Perform daily and monthly bookkeeping tasks, such as accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliation.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Conduct routine audits of financial documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions on a monthly basis.
- Assist senior accountants in tax preparation and filing processes for small to medium-sized businesses.
- Communicate with clients regarding financial inquiries and document requests in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred (equivalent experience will be considered).
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites (occasionally).
