Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account analysis
- Process payroll transactions and ensure timely employee compensation
- Contribute to financial reporting by compiling data for internal statements and tax documentation
- Support auditing processes by maintaining organized documentation and responding to inquiries
- Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) for efficient transaction processing and reporting
- Adhere to GAAP standards and internal controls to ensure compliance and data integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (recent graduates welcome)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Basic knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive problem-solving ability and willingness to learn new systems
- Valid Louisiana driver's license (if local travel required)
- 0-2 years of accounting internship or relevant experience
