In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of potential clients, analyzing financial data, and making informed decisions that protect our company's assets while fostering growth. You will work closely with our underwriting team and senior management to develop credit strategies that drive profitability.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and credit bureau reports to assess borrower risk and repayment capacity.
- Prepare comprehensive credit memos and presentation decks for the underwriting committee.
- Monitor existing accounts for early warning signs of default and recommend remediation strategies.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to build financial models and scenario analysis for loan approvals.
- Collaborate with the sales team to structure credit solutions that align with client needs.
- Maintain accurate and organized credit files within the company's ERP system.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting credit standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial credit analysis or lending.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with credit scoring software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
