As a Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for evaluating loan applications, analyzing financial statements, and preparing comprehensive risk reports. Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis of loan applications, including income verification, asset evaluation, and credit history review.
- Assess borrower risk and prepare detailed credit memos and recommendations for approval or denial.
- Monitor existing portfolio performance and identify early warning signs of delinquency.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, federal regulations, and banking standards.
- Collaborate with the underwriting and lending teams to streamline the approval process.
- Update and maintain credit scoring models and risk assessment databases.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on credit portfolio trends for management review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
- 2+ years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or financial analysis preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and financial modeling.
- Experience with credit scoring software and core banking systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting complex data clearly.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
