Responsibilities
- Core Accounting: Manage daily bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card statements to ensure data accuracy and identify discrepancies immediately.
- Payroll Management: Process weekly payroll for all employees, verifying hours worked and tax deductions with precision.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets, for management review.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist the Senior Accountant and CPA during tax season by gathering necessary documentation and organizing financial records.
- Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and contract terms to maintain positive business relationships.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar accounting platforms; strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy when handling financial data and a strong eye for identifying errors.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Location: Must reside in or willing to commute to Washington, DC.
