Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are posted correctly.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Process payroll accurately and timely to ensure employees are paid on schedule.
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns in compliance with state regulations.
- Reconcile credit card statements and assist with annual audits.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding financial statements and account balances.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or general accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and basic tax preparation principles.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
