Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts: Perform daily reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, on a monthly basis.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, manage vendor payments, and ensure all receivables are collected in a timely manner.
- Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll duties, ensuring all withholdings and deductions are calculated correctly for our California employees.
- Bookkeeping Software: Utilize QuickBooks Online and other accounting software to record transactions and generate reports.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate tax records and ensure compliance with California state tax laws and GAAP standards.
- Client Communication: Liaise with clients and external accountants to provide necessary financial information.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; equivalent work experience is acceptable.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with an eagle eye for identifying discrepancies in financial data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
