Responsibilities

  • Manage Daily Bookkeeping: Process invoices, manage expenses, and ensure accurate data entry into our accounting software (Xero/Sage).
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a weekly basis to ensure data integrity.
  • Prepare VAT Returns: Calculate and submit monthly and quarterly VAT returns to HMRC in compliance with UK regulations.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of trial balances, profit & loss statements, and balance sheets for clients.
  • Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their financial queries and account status.
  • Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing and ensuring accurate tax deductions are applied.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications: AAT Level 3 or higher (ACCA/CIMA qualified is a plus).
  • Experience: Proven experience in bookkeeping within a UK-based practice or commercial environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
  • Excel Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
