Responsibilities
- Manage Financial Records: Accurately maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable ledgers.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
- Payroll Processing: Assist with processing payroll, ensuring all tax withholdings and deductions are calculated correctly.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor and categorize business expenses, preparing reports for budget analysis.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage accounting software; advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) are essential.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to spot discrepancies and ensure high accuracy in data entry.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Reliability: Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
