Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Accurately maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are correct and up-to-date.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, issue payments, and collect payments in a timely manner to maintain positive vendor and client relationships.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial data matches bank statements.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and generate monthly financial reports, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements for review by management.
- Payroll Administration: Assist in processing payroll functions, ensuring all deductions and taxes are calculated correctly.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all financial records comply with federal, state, and local regulations and maintain organized digital and physical files.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist the senior accountants in gathering data for year-end tax preparation and audits.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; High school diploma required.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), and other accounting software.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and maintain high levels of accuracy in data entry.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
- Integrity: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and trust.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
