The Role:
We are looking for a self-starter who can manage the full cycle of bookkeeping with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports.
Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the general ledger, ensuring all entries are posted correctly.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, manage vendor payments, and track accounts receivable collections efficiently.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure cash balances are accurate and discrepancies are resolved.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reports for management review.
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll for employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Compliance & Audit Support: Maintain proper documentation for tax filings and assist external auditors during annual reviews.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: 2-5 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or general accounting.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online), Xero, or Sage Intacct.
- Excel Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) is essential.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors and ensure high accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members and clients.
