Responsibilities
- Manage and reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all invoices are paid and invoices are received in a timely manner.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets.
- Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of annual tax documents and work closely with external accountants.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks/Xero) to track and manage financial data.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role (1-3 years minimum).
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero; strong MS Excel skills required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot errors and discrepancies.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
