Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers with 99% accuracy
- Resolve billing discrepancies and patient inquiries within 24 hours
- Perform daily reconciliations of accounts receivable reports
- Update patient demographic and insurance information in EMR systems
- Collaborate with coding teams to ensure proper CPT/ICD-10 assignment
- Generate monthly aging reports and identify collection opportunities
- Train new staff on billing protocols and software systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) or CPC preferred
- Expertise in Epic EMR and Medisoft billing software
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and insurance claim regulations
- Advanced Excel skills with pivot table experience
- Proven ability to meet monthly billing KPIs
- Excellent communication skills for patient and insurer interactions
