Responsibilities
- Process and submit insurance claims for Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payers with 95%+ accuracy
- Resolve claim denials and payment discrepancies through proactive follow-up
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Reconcile daily accounts receivable reports and aging reports
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure proper coding and documentation
- Train front desk staff on billing protocols and patient communication
- Comply with HIPAA regulations and internal audit requirements
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration, accounting, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, Athenahealth, or NextGen EMR systems
- Advanced knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with 10-key calculator proficiency
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage high-volume tasks with competing deadlines
