Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance payers (Medicare, Medi-Cal, commercial plans)
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denials through appeals and follow-up
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits pre-service
- Maintain accurate patient accounts and AR aging reports
- Collaborate with clinical teams for documentation accuracy
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in Epic or NextGen EHR systems
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
