Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end billing processes including charge entry, claim submission, and payment posting
- Resolve billing discrepancies and insurance claim denials through systematic investigation
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits across multiple insurance carriers
- Maintain accurate financial records using Epic EHR and Medisoft systems
- Generate monthly billing reports and analyze accounts receivable metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation compliance
- Train new staff on billing protocols and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient/hospital settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Advanced proficiency in billing software and MS Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA and ACA compliance regulations
