Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate insurance claims and patient invoices within strict deadlines
- Resolve billing discrepancies and patient inquiries with exceptional communication
- Utilize Epic and Meditech systems to maintain billing data integrity
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Collaborate with collections team to manage outstanding accounts receivable
- Generate monthly billing reports for financial analysis
- Train staff on updated billing procedures and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in healthcare setting
- Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) credential required
- Proficiency in Epic, Meditech, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Deep understanding of insurance claim processes and CMS regulations
- Exceptional problem-solving and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
