Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end medical billing processes including charge entry, claim submission, and follow-up
- Resolve billing discrepancies and patient account inquiries with exceptional customer service
- Analyze aging reports and implement strategies to improve accounts receivable metrics
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and insurance payer regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to verify insurance coverage and pre-authorizations
- Generate monthly billing reports and identify process improvement opportunities
- Maintain accurate patient financial records in Epic EHR system
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Expertise in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency with billing software (Epic, Meditech, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Excellent communication skills for resolving complex patient issues
- Experience with Massachusetts Medicaid and Blue Cross Blue Shield policies
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
