Responsibilities
- Review and process patient insurance claims (CMS-1500 and electronic) with 100% accuracy.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable (AR) aging report and initiate collection efforts for outstanding balances.
- Reconcile billing discrepancies, appeal denied claims, and resolve complex billing issues.
- Communicate effectively with insurance payers, clearinghouses, and patients regarding billing inquiries and denials.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and billing documentation in our EHR system.
- Assist in month-end close procedures and financial reporting as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or a related role.
- Proficient in medical billing software (Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
