Responsibilities
- Manage Day-to-Day Accounting: Oversee daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly and annual bank reconciliations to ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist in preparing for external audits and ensuring all internal controls and compliance requirements are met.
- Tax Preparation: Support the preparation of federal and state tax returns, including quarterly and annual filings.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the finance department and implement solutions to increase efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting or financial analysis.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect discrepancies in financial data.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot financial issues and propose viable solutions.
