As a Weekend Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our clients. You will handle end-of-period close processes, reconcile accounts, and ensure all financial data is recorded accurately. Responsibilities
- Perform high-volume transaction processing, including data entry and bank reconciliations, specifically during weekend shifts.
- Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, verifying invoices and ensuring timely payments.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements, for weekly review.
- Review and verify expense reports, receipts, and vouchers for accuracy and authorization.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax documents and filings.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries and account discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and reconciliation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to detect errors in financial data.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during weekend hours.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
