Responsibilities
- Financial Reconciliation: Perform monthly and weekly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations for multiple client accounts.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage and process invoices, ensure timely payments, and track incoming payments accurately.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Post journal entries, manage general ledger accounts, and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, trial balances, and variance reports for weekend closing cycles.
- Bookkeeping Software: Utilize QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage to maintain client books and perform data entry.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial records comply with federal and state tax regulations and internal policies.
- Client Communication: Assist in answering client inquiries regarding their financial statements and account balances.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting or CPA firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet strict deadlines during the weekend shift.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills.
