Responsibilities
- Reconcile Accounts: Perform daily reconciliation of bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and post adjusting entries, and assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
- Payroll Processing: Manage and process payroll functions for weekend staff, ensuring all deductions and taxes are calculated correctly.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, verify expenses, and issue payments to vendors while tracking accounts receivable.
- Bookkeeping Systems: Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) to maintain organized digital and physical records.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal and state regulations.
- Support: Assist the full-time accounting team with special projects and month-end closing procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a part-time or weekend capacity.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online or Desktop; proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to spot discrepancies in financial data.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday) and occasional holidays.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and staff.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
