Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit/loss reports
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance
- Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and tax regulations
- Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis for department heads
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic financial planning initiatives
- Implement process improvements using accounting software (QuickBooks/Oracle)
- Manage year-end closing procedures and tax documentation preparation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sector
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems
- Expert knowledge of GAAP, tax codes, and financial reporting standards
- Proven ability to manage month-end closing processes independently
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder reporting
- Experience with multi-state compliance and audit preparation
