Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK GAAP
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable financial insights to leadership
- Develop and maintain internal financial controls and reporting systems
- Collaborate with auditors during financial reviews and tax filings
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvements initiatives
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent accounting certification
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience in UK/EU corporate environments
- Expert proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Xero) and advanced Excel skills
- Deep understanding of UK tax regulations, VAT compliance, and corporate governance
- Proven track record of managing complex financial reporting cycles
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with ability to present financial data to non-finance stakeholders
