About the Role
As Payroll Specialist, you'll be the backbone of our employee compensation system, ensuring accuracy and compliance while driving process improvements. This position reports directly to the Finance Director and offers significant visibility across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Process multi-state payroll for 500+ employees using ADP Workforce Now
- Manage garnishments, deductions, and tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
- Conduct payroll audits and reconcile accounts monthly
- Develop and implement payroll process improvements
- Respond to payroll inquiries with exceptional customer service
- Collaborate with HR on new hire onboarding and terminations
- Stay current on FLSA, IRS, and DOL regulations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience with multi-state compliance
- Advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- Proven track record of zero-error payroll processing
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive data
- Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
