Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 15-20 small to midsize businesses using QuickBooks Online
- Process accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end closings
- Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheets) and management reports
- Handle payroll processing and tax filings for California clients
- Oversee sales tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Implement and maintain internal controls for financial data integrity
- Collaborate with CPA firms during audits and tax season
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Online
- Proven expertise in California payroll and sales tax regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- Strong attention to detail with 100% accuracy in financial records
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions
- Experience with construction or retail accounting a plus
