The Role:
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing complex financial statements, and ensuring our organization remains compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and examine monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely filing with federal, state, and local authorities.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed reporting to senior management.
- Support external audits by providing requested documentation and schedules.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and perform monthly depreciation calculations.
- Process payroll and ensure all payroll taxes are calculated and remitted accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
