Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily general ledger accounting activities and reconciliation of accounts.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and monthly reports for management review.
- Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist in the monthly payroll process and ensure accurate deductions and tax withholdings.
- Conduct internal audits and implement controls to minimize risk and errors.
- Maintain and update fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel (advanced functions), and accounting software.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, urgent hiring environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
