Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts: Accurately record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all entries are timely and correct.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial records match bank statements and identify discrepancies immediately.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and generate monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports for management review.
- Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll processing and tax filings to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger and assist in the preparation of the annual audit package.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding billing inquiries and financial status updates.
- System Management: Maintain and update accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) and other financial systems.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate finance department.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in QuickBooks Online/Pro, Excel (advanced functions), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and rectify them without compromising data integrity.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and state tax regulations.
- Certification: Bookkeeping certification (NACPB, NABA) or CPA license is a significant plus.
