Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns with a high degree of accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct tax planning and research to identify opportunities for client savings and optimization.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax statuses, documentation requests, and complex tax issues.
- Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate client records and prepare necessary supporting schedules and workpapers.
- Assist in the annual audit process and provide support to senior staff during busy season.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree (CPA, EA) preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSeries, Drake) is a must.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during tax season.
