Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual and business income tax returns (Form 1040, 1120, 1065) with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct detailed client consultations to gather financial data and explain tax strategies effectively.
- Research complex tax issues and interpret current tax laws to maximize client benefits.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, tax projections, and quarterly estimates.
- Communicate with clients and tax authorities regarding status updates and required documentation.
- Train and mentor junior staff members on tax compliance procedures.
- Ensure timely filing of all federal and state tax returns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation (public accounting or corporate environment preferred).
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, ProSeries, Lacerte, or TaxSlayer).
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and numbers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet strict deadlines.
