Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1065) with high accuracy and in compliance with IRS regulations.
- Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues and provide practical solutions to clients and team members.
- Assist senior staff with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liability and maximize client profitability.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documentation, explain tax findings, and provide timely updates on return statuses.
- Utilize tax preparation software (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte) to ensure efficient workflow and data integrity.
- Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate compliance for all clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (CPA, EA, or Master’s in Taxation preferred).
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in tax preparation and accounting is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US federal and state tax codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation packages (ProSeries, Lacerte, or equivalent).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients.
- Must be a self-starter who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
